boo!

Just a quick Halloween layout I put together a few weeks ago. I really didn't love these pictures but they were the only one's I got that year and what would we do without Cinderella and a Power Ranger in the book?? So I just went really simple. It worked and it was so fast. I especially like the punched circles with the buttons on them. I had originally wanted to thread the buttons, but I guess I forgot because the next thing I knew I was gluing them all down. Kind of a bummer but what are you going to do?

Well it's party day today. My mom gave me the recipe for the chocolate cake she used to make for my birthday and it took me like 5 hours and about 8 phone calls to my mom to make them. They taste good but they aren't very pretty! I'm no baker that's for sure. J likes them so I guess that is all that matters.

make it a great day!

my baby is going to be 5!

I can hardly believe that J is going to be 5! Time just goes so fast, it seems like I just brought her home and now I have to send her off to school. I know I still have the whole summer, but still......
This is just 1 of the 200 pictures (no I'm not kidding!) I took to capture this milestone. I was trying out my new lens and much to her dismay I just couldn't quit snapping. You would have thought she was being tortured the way she was acting between shots. But I got so many great pictures, it's going to be really hard to narrow it down to a few to scrapbook. I might have to do a really nice page with my 2 or 3 favorites and then do a page with a bunch of little pictures just so I have them in the book. We'll see though, at the rate I'm going it will be 2010 before I scrap these pictures.

Speaking of that I just picked up Stacy Julian's new book today. Photo Freedom (I think that's the title). It's supposed to be about letting the chronological scrapper get out of the rut of going in order. I feel like I'm in a rut, not sure if it's because of that or not. But I thought I'd read it, it's gotten great reviews, and see what it can do for me. I've also thought about finishing up this book I'm working on (I'm so close) and then going right to the present and scrap backwards. I'll let you know what I decide when I get done with the book!

I've got a big party to get ready for, so I'll be back with some party pics soon! I also have a Halloween page to share too.

birthday tags

These are the tags I made for all the kiddos coming to J's birthday party. I thought they could use them for backpack tags if they don't wreck them before they leave ! We have a busy weekend ahead of us with the birthday party tomorrow. I'll be back later with some cute pictures of the birthday girl.

winter cheer

Another snow page! It feel like summer here today which I am so excited about. Not much to say about this page...I used some rub-ons for the title, white and plum su cardstock, snow flurries stamp set and circle punches. You can't really see it but there is a huge clear snowflake with a button in the middle right on top of the velvet Basic Grey ribbon. The journaling block is one of Basic Grey's new clear journaling stamps. I love these!

Speaking of basic grey Barb has several of the older Basic Grey collections on sale right now. You can also use the code mayflowers for an extra 20% off the entire order!

I'm trying to finish up this one album. I am so close but it's all end of year stuff! Soon I will onto all thinks springy and summery!

doll house

Just a quick layout today. Some cute pictures of J playing in her doll house. I think she only played with it one time! I really wanted her to like doll houses because I really like them read like to buy things for them! :> I'm just glad I snapped these few pictures. Totally into butterflies right now. The strip of ribbon is from making memories...it's a string of butterflies and the little embellie if from a k & Co chipboard sticker sheet. I really need to find more butterfly embellishments!!
Paper is from making memories and imaginesce. Flower from prima, brad from Making Memories.

I have few more pages to share so check back over the next few days! I also hope to scrap a little over the next week!

winter....

should be gone by now but it sure doesn't feel like it! SO I had to do a snow page as a tribute to the Winter that I would like to see no more....

I am just loving the Jersey shore dsp from Stampin' UP! It is so great for boy pages. This layout just uses a bunch of strips and blocks of the different papers in the pack. I just wanted to use them all. I added some American Crafts foam letters and felt snowflakes with some su brads. Covered a few Making Memories brackets and called it a day.

Check back tomorrow for some picts with my new lens! I have been wanting a Canon L lens since I started shooting with an automatic camera 10 years ago....I finally got one and I love it. It's been getting a workout at baseball games and I've been using J for a model every chance I get.

make it a great day!!

spring is in the air!

I was out in the yard today taking pictures of J&J twisting on the swings and noticed how pretty the flowers were on the tree. Seeing as they will be replaced soon with green I decided to snap some pictures. I can't believe we have lived here for almost 8 years and I've never photographed these flowers! I hope you are enjoying the signs of spring all around!
