Finally my inspiration card

Here is the card I came up with for the first Inspiration challenge at EI. see post below for details if you would like to play along. When I saw that gorgeous china I knew I had to dig out my retired Au Chocolate SU dsp. I loved that paper but it has long been forgotten since it retired. I did have trouble with what stamp to use and after about 8 tries in the garbage I decided on this Fancy Pants stamp...Fresh Mod. I punched it out with my Marvy punches added the orange felt flower for some color and called it a day. OK I just made that sound really easy..rest assured it totally wasn't! I started this yesterday morning and just now finished it after a days worth of tweaking!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super Sunday!

climb, slide.....

play together! For this page I used a sketch from the SCS sketch challenge forum. It was a fun sketch to play with and it came together so quickly. It seems that I can't make a SB page these days without a cluster of goodies in one of the corners. It funny how you try something, think it works and stick with it! I'm OK with that it gets me so many more pages done. I am skipping around a bit these days so I won't 12 pages in row that look identical, they will be spread out through the album....I hope!

One thing I am trying is to get better at combining fonts for my titles. This one works for me, but it wasn't exactly what I was going for. I see so many great pages with a mixture of fonts and textures and I just love it. So that's one of the things I'm working on right now. I also struggle with the actual title sometimes, so I have taken to keeping a notebook with me to write down littl things that come to me. I was at the park the other day with J&J and while they were swinging on the tire swing Jor screamed "There's a butterfly in my tummy"! I wrote it down thinking it would be a great title for this page. I'm also going to sit down with a bunch of pictures and jot down some journaling ideas for them. That way when I sit down to scrap them I can take some time off by having that part already done. I figured I could do it while the kids are playing, or while I'm waiting for them at one of their many events. Thats it for today. Hope it's a great one!

Happy 4th

Here's a quick page I did with a Pencil Lines sketch. And by quick I mean it took me an hour or so to layout the page...that was a week ago. I finally got it glued down and the journaling written, ummmm, last night! Nice. At this rate I'll never get an album completed. It is another page finished, however, and I'll take it!

I'm so excited about scrapping DS's pictures. Have you seen the new Zach's Life line by Cosmo Cricket? Oh my gosh. I loved it the first time I saw it in orange and brown and I love it even my when I went back to Archivers and the same line was in red too. There are rub-ons, clear stamps, die cute adhesives, letter stickers. The list goes on and I now own a great deal of it. I just kept picking up bits and pieces and I now have quite the collection. You'll have to wait though for any samples with this wonderful paper cause I have only looked at up to this point. I will be scrapping with it very soon. I would show it to you, but I can't find anywhere online to grab a link from. I even checked their website and it's not up there either. Sorry about that!

hope the weekend was a great one!

E-isc10

Time for another EIS challenge! This week's challenge is a sketch challenge brought to us by Michelle. I know mine doesn't look very much like the sketch...but I was staring at it the whole time I was making this card. So it was totally inspired by her lovely sketch. It is flipped upside down and the main elements are there I just didn't go edge to edge with the design. I've been wanting to use this accents and elements tin of goodies and I'm glad I did! I think it turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself. LOL! The picture isn't very good...I was trying a custom white balance with my camera to see if I could get truer colors...I think I did but in the process I forgot to change my f/stop so the only thing that is really in focus is the middle of the card. I don't have time to re-do this one so it is what it is...but it bugs me....

I'm about to start on another scrapping frenzy so I' will be blogging more that I have...thanks for sticking in there with me. I definitely go in spurts with my crafting. A lot and then nothing for a while. I'll try to stockpile a bunch of stuff so I have things to show you more often!

challenge

This is just one of the many projects I created out of one sheet of pattern paper. Michelle challenged us to use an entire sheet on as many projects as you could. I had to have at least 2 cards and at least 2 non-cards. Instead of stamps I used the maya road sheer blossoms and chipboard flowers along with some american crafts felt flowers. Fun! If you want to see the rest of my projects go here. And if you want to play along there is still time! Check out Michelle's forum for all the details.
